As as I got older, I realized the potentional of making some quick easy cash selling the mushrooms to local chefs. I had a couple restaurants that would wait for my call and be delighted to pay whatever asking price I made up that year. This was my first venture into the gourmet world. Soon, other things took priority, and I left my shrooming business behind.
However, much like my dad, I now often find my eyes casted down, searching for the first signs of spring.
