In typical Hanselman fashion, Mike decided to attack the cancer full steam ahead. He blasted the brain tumor in no time with radiation. Then he started with the chemo... Dang, chemo is a nasty helper. Dad made great progress on the lung, but the chemo made him really sick, in fact we almost lost him a month or so ago.
Sadly the cancer has decided to play dirty and has spread to the lining of his brain and most likely his spinal fluid - YUCK.
That sounds just plain scary and painful. BUT the good news is that dad won't be in any pain, he will in time just drift off to sleep and not wake up. We aren't sure of the timeline, weeks is what the doctor said, but she sees him at his worst. I am hoping he gets to enjoy one last hunting season.
As for today, Dad is up and about for periods of time. Some days are better than others, but heck that goes for most of us. He does enjoy the view from his chair in the garden.
So we apologize if we've neglected answering the phones, or didn't have the plant you needed, we hope that in the future we can get the Herbary back to Mike standards. Until then, we're enjoying our time with Mike and doing the best that we can. Thanks for understanding and being part of the Blue Heron Herbary family.
